This painting is from the Mugshot collection. It is inspired by a vintage photograph of the mugshot of Sixten Floretin Lindren. Arrested at age of 17 in Sweden in 1907. The reason for his arrest is stealing at work, where he was a waiter.
The word encaustic originates from the Greek word enkaustikos which means to burn in, referring to the heat applied to each layer of wax to burn in to the previous layer. Encaustic medium in a combination of beeswax and damar resin.
The works are colorfast and stable and will not melt under normal household conditions. Do not place in direct sun light. Clean with a damp cloth.
